Munich, Germany, 21 June 2024 – JinkoSolar, a global leader in photovoltaic and energy storage, today announced that it has signed an agreement with kIEFER to supply the Jinko Blue Whale SunTera large-scale battery energy storage system for Athens International Airport (AIA), thereby supporting its commitment to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2025. Upon completion, Athens International Airport will operate the largest self-consumption system among global airport facilities and will become the world’s first international airport to achieve 100% self-consumption.
